Drs. Tom Jansen-Bramevaer, VP-Marketing and Finance
As he likes to say himself: "I am a real entrepreneur and I actually only discovered that later. I can appreciate the tension that entrepreneurship has both physically and mentally fine.
Until I started doing business when I was 40, I worked for (some well-known in the Netherlands consultancy firms) and larger companies, including Philips. Because as an economist I also studied (international) marketing in Harvard, I became responsible at Philips for many international activities. There I discovered that I had a good “Project Manager” and – even better – appears to have the qualities to undertake other projects lead managers and successfully initiate and complete projects. Marketing projects were led and initiated by me in i.e., Iran, Turkey, Great Britain and the United States.
I have made Project Management my profession. Under the name JDP-Consult (v/h Jansen, Van Doorn and Partners, organizational advisors) I have between 1974 and 2004 spread all over the world (in more than 50 countries) by my associates and employees to carry out more than 100 projects. The project duration was from a few months to several years with crews of 2 to 10 project workers.
For some it is difficult to understand, but within Project Management I cannot indicate a specialty, because:
a) Project Management is a specialty within the
“Management” is and
b) I have always involved subject matter experts in all projects. I have always been quite involved in the tourist area.
For example, one of the first hotels at Schiphol was designed by me. Mind you, not as an architect, but the concept from then has been laid down by me and by an architect to realization brought.
My company further has tourism from Europe to the Dominican Republic and Ecuador created. In Cork, Southern Ireland, I was part of the team that created a new Hilton was to be established there. Unfortunately, due to a reorganization at Hilton died an untimely death. Singapore Airlines invited me to contribute to the long-term vision.
The duration of the project then was from a few months to several years with crews of 2 to 10 project employees. In The Hague I had a support crew for the project leaders anywhere in the world. I traveled the projects myself, but especially the Project Leaders, I also occasionally visited companies and institutions to find new to acquire projects.
Finally, I have recently been involved in our plans that come under the A-L-T (Asian-Luxury-Travels) and even participated in the legal and organizational design thereof.
Partly because of this, A-L-T falls under my private company MAS International Activities (Nr Chamber of Commerce 59405864) which is located in Wassenaar. The new visiting address is Van Zuylen van Nijeveltstraat 255A 2242 LH Wassenaar, where I live.

Liesbeth Hoogland, Connoisseur-Bali (and hostess for special trips)
In 1972 at the age of three I moved with my parents and my brother to Jakarta. My father worked for Foreign Affairs for about 5 years. During this period, I learned to speak Bahasa Indonesia.
Years later I studied at the Hotel school in The Hague. For my management traineeship I found an opportunity at Aerowisata, the hotel group owned by Garuda Indonesia. Through this I got a broad view on high end hotel tourism on Bali, Java and Lombok.
The moment I arrived in Indonesia, and I heard people speaking Bahasa I realized the language was still somewhere in the back of my mind. Within a few months the language came back! I still enjoy speaking Bahasa with my Indonesian friends.
After my traineeship, I was offered a position in Sales and Marketing and decided to stay in Bali. In this period, I met Eduard. We worked together at the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel. After four years, I moved back to the Netherlands.
Since that time, I stayed in contact with my friends and colleagues in Bali. As a family we visited the island several times. My husband and our kids also fell in love with the beauty of the island and wonderful people.
It has been a while since we visited Bali. The last time was 2018. The increase of tourism in Bali is not only a positive development. The traffic, pollution, and the lack of respect of many tourists visiting the island was painful to see.
With this trip I hope I will be able to show you what the island is about. I realise we will visit the major tourist attractions but hopefully with a different mindset.
